Every year the ladies at my church host a "Salad Supper." A night of yummy food, singing, humor, and encouragement. Both of my posts this we week will be about this year's salad supper. Today, I will share our table centerpieces and on Saturday, I will share the recipe for the salad I made this year.
This year was the 20th anniversary and to celebrate, the ladies wanted to recreate one of their most favorite skits, a fashion show. In the show, the had taken fashion and done a literal representation of it. For instance they put baby dolls on a dress for a baby doll dress or tea bags on a dress for a tea dress.
Since we knew we would be doing the fashion show, I came up with the idea of using hats, purses, and other accessories as centerpieces for the tables. And that's all I can take credit for!
The other church ladies gathered up some fabulous hats, purses, gloves, scarves, and jewelry. And my friend, Stacy, did an absolutely wonderful job of putting it all together. (She is so good at centerpieces; which is why she gets put in charge of it every year!)
I thought I'd share with you a few of my favorite centerpieces. We had 15 tables, so this post would be incredibly long if I shared them all with you.
Another friend, Joyce got these bud vases to use as hat stands.
Stacy placed flower buds in the vases. Isn't she clever?
We choose this pretty deep pink for the plates and napkins. It brought out some of
the pink hues in many of the hats.
We had a great time at this year's salad supper and our fashion show was a huge hit and had the all the ladies rolling. Joyce offered to take pictures of me and my sucker dress (a take-off of seersucker fabric) but I was not so sure about having those floating around the internet.
