Monkey Cupcakes, a Card Game & a Microwave Tip

I have a lot of things to share with you but they don't really make a whole blog post on their own so I thought I would put them all together.

Monkey Cupcakes:

Two days after Jamie's Little Man's birthday is my youngest's birthday. (Read about Little Man's bday here).  My Jet was also turning two, (yep that makes them two days apart!).  I have been calling Jet "Monkey" for months now, not really sure why but I used it once and it just stuck. So when I came across these monkey cupcakes on Pinterest, I knew I had to make them and they looked easy enough.
I wasn't able to find the eyes she had used, so I made do. Even though mine didn't turn as super cute as the original, I still thought they were cute and the kids loved them.

We waited until Sunday (Father's Day) to have the cupcakes, so we could share them with the cousins that were in town. Overall, I think my little monkey had a wonderful birthday and he was so cute!  Every time anyone would sing "Happy Birthday" to him, he would sing along.

Our New Favorite Card Game:

Ever since I saw this game on 4 Little Fergusons, we have been playing the game like crazy.  My oldest two love it and I've enjoyed it as well.  If your kid can count to ten (even with help), they can play this game and probably without much help from you.

And even if you don't have kids, you still might enjoy this easy game.  Go here for directions on how to play.

A Microwave Tip:
And finally, I have a tip for you that I read somewhere recently, though for the life of me, I can't remember where.  I thought I pinned it but apparently not.  So if you know where this tip came from let me know, and I'll give credit to whoever came up with this tip.
Now on to the tip, when you are reheating food in the microwave place a mug of water in there too.  As the water heats up it will evaporate and keep the food moist.  I tried this several times, the first couple times with ham, and it worked great.
So grab that coffee mug you never use and put it to good use! (I purposefully used the cup my brother-in-law sent my husband for this picture!)

So that's what has been going on around here.  Well and a surprise anniversary party for my in-laws which I will share about soon.  What's been going on with you?
